APOSTOLIC MINISTRY TEAMS Before we get into the heart of what Apostolic Ministry Teams are let me state the purpose of why we are even mentioning teams at this juncture. The Kingdom Come School of Mission & Ministry is part one of a two part vision for ministry. It is our hope that many of the students that take part of our school will gain a passion for missions and in the near future want to take part of ministry teams that go into nations and truly make a difference. In many parts of the world traditional missions just simply cannot function with any degree of success. But it is our belief that Apostolic Ministry Teams that are created with the specific gifts necessary to reach specific regions can infiltrate a region with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With that in mind our prayer is that within a short period of time that this school can also train and equip these type of teams to then be released into the nations. Not every student will stay on to take part of these teams, many will go on to further their education and fulfill their God destiny as ministers in the career path that God has laid before them. But we believe that at least some of our students will choose to stay on with this ministry and take their place as a part of an Apostolic Ministry Team that is released to serve nations as they serve God! So then, let me explain the vision of these Apostolic Teams by first explaining what they are not: An apostolic team is NOT a glorified short-term missions trip. An apostolic team is NOT an Raiders of the Lost Ark adventure. An apostolic team is NOT for those “faint of heart”. An apostolic team is NOT a company of volunteers. An apostolic team is NOT a place to escape from those pesky issues back home. An apostolic team is NOT a chance to “see the world”. An apostolic team is NOT a time to test your ministry gifts. An apostolic team is NOT for the immature or undisciplined young believer. An apostolic team is NOT a place where democracy rules.
An Apostolic Team is a: Company of mature ministers led by an apostle to build apostolically. A company of pioneers who break through limitations and blaze a trail for God in new territories. A company who look to restore Divine Order and Godly Government back to the church. A company that is Spirit-led in the location of ministry and strategic in the implementation of ministry. A company who believes for the transformation of communities through territorial governing churches. A company who demonstrates the Kingdom through the exercise of signs, wonders, miracles and healing. A company who models and imparts Godly values, principles and relationships. A company with a warfare mantel to exercise authority over demonic powers through intercessory prayer & warfare. A company who walk in covenant with each other, shoulder to shoulder, not breaking rank. A company who communicates Kingdom truths, principles and apostolic doctrine through both word & deed. A company of five-fold ministers who equip the saints for the work of ministry. A company who represent Christ the King, as they offer treaties of peace to the nations. A company called to bring forth the message of the good news of the Kingdom of God, that Jesus Christ is the ruling, reigning King of all and has made a way of salvation for all who believe (cling to, trust in, rely upon) Him.
What Does an Apostolic Ministry Team Look Like? An Apostolic Team has two important parts that make up the composition of the team, the first part is a team of five-fold ministers (apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher and evangelist) who are lead out by a senior apostle. Their ministry exercise comes out of their covenant relationships (covenant sons & covenant friends). This teams primary function is to be strategically led into an area to exercise spiritual authority, create open heavens for the move of God and establish break-through governing churches. They are supported by an Apostolic Company (whose abilities, calls and anointings) are jointly fit together with the Apostolic Team to strategically impact an area. These team members that are joined & jointed with the Apostolic Company are the hands on operation of the ministry. The makeup of the team will be based on the actual need of a specific region. These teams members will have varied gifts and occupational training but as an example some teams members could have training and experience in education or the medical field, some might have expertise in construction or engineering. The list is endless as to of the type of gifts and training that can be used in a region to reach the lost.
Apostolic Team Ministry Operation As aforementioned these teams will be assembled according to the needs of the specific region the team is being sent to. Previous scout teams will have spied out an area and taken appraisal of how a team could best operate and what types of ministry and occupational gifts would best suit that area. From that point, strategic plans would be made, tactical plans set in motion and Advance teams sent in to prepare the land before the full apostolic company and support team is sent in. These advance teams will be sent in to establish headquarters and prepare logistically for the arrival of the full team, but more importantly, the advance team will prepare the ground spiritually through intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare through praise and worship. At that point, the full team would be sent in to minister according to their gifts (spiritual and occupational) and anointing as they preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. |
